Cover art
Custom cover art for musicians from all over the world.
Music is all about communicating emotion, and album covers play a significant role in creating an emotional connection. They have the power to intensify the listening experience by communicating a particular feeling or by evoking a certain image in the listener's head. When creating cover art my focus is put on embodying the essence of an artist's distinct sound and capturing the emotional intent of their music. I apply insights from user-centered design placing emphasis on the target audience to direct the project direction/style helping me achive consistent results.

My proven process emphesizes close-collaboration and a story-driven approach. Cover art creation consists of the following phases. 1. Getting alignment: At this stage I set clear and upfront expectations - discussing the project scope, and working through the discovery process - at this stage, I ask a bunch of questions to my clients to get to know them, their audience, and their work. 2. Ideation: Loosely exploring ideas - gathering relevant references and insights that will help in the process. 3. Concept work: Exploring and finding the best approach for the project. 4. Iterration: Execution of the design based on the chosen concept. I involve the artist in the process and explain the rationale behind design choices in an iterative cycle (until mutual satisfaction). 5. Finalization: Making minor adjustments, exporting and creating 3D mockups for the final design, a social media kit ect.
To achieve a truly unique look, I usually incorporate my photography and digital art into the designs. This helps me sustain a distinctive visual identity and deliver something unique to the customer.
I continually develop my multi-medium skillset (beyond an expertise in a single tool), communication skills, and requirement collection game. I also get an insight into working as a freelancer, setting my own rates, pricing projects, managing time, etc.
